Team SKM,
The Registrar of Companies (ROC) office in Uttar Pradesh will soon have a new branch in Noida. The official notification for this expansion was issued on October 24, and operations are set to begin from January 1, 2026. This new office will oversee 17 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh.
Until now, the state had only one ROC office in Kanpur, which meant company officials from across Uttar Pradesh had to travel long distances for their official work. The division of the state into two ROC offices will significantly ease this burden. It will make processes such as inspections, complaint investigations, inquiries, merger report approvals, IPO clearances, and other compliance-related activities much more efficient.
The ROC office oversees all companies incorporated within the state. It is responsible for granting approvals for company expansion, issuing certified copies, and ensuring that companies comply with statutory requirements through regular inspections, inquiries, and investigations.
Since Kanpur handled the workload for the entire state, the office faced immense pressure. With a new branch in Noida, this workload will now be distributed more evenly.
The Noida ROC office, beginning operations on January 1, 2026, will cover the following 17 districts:
Notably, Agra – one of the major commercial centers of Western Uttar Pradesh – will now come under the Noida ROC office’s jurisdiction, ensuring faster and easier compliance for local companies.
The Noida ROC office will also be responsible for Aligarh, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Etah, Firozabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Hathras, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Mathura, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, and Shamli, covering the major parts of Western Uttar Pradesh.
Due to rapid industrial and corporate growth in Western Uttar Pradesh – especially around Ghaziabad and Noida – the need for a separate ROC office had become increasingly urgent. Company representatives from these areas previously had to travel to Kanpur, leading to time loss and operational delays.
The remaining districts of Uttar Pradesh will continue to fall under the jurisdiction of the Kanpur ROC office.
“Setting up two ROC offices in Uttar Pradesh will ease the workload on the Kanpur office and enhance administrative efficiency across the state.”
